It all started eight years ago, when professional photographer Daysy started thinking beyond weddings and family events. She had always been a passionate advocate for raising women's self confidence and esteem. As a photographer, Daysy had witnessed too many women who were unhappy with the way they looked and felt about themselves. She wanted to do something to help them love themselves, but what? Daysy tried all sorts of different types photography, including glamour shots and boudoir. Daysy wanted to practice more boudoir photography, but where could she find a woman willing to be her guinea pig? The answer was Kelly, who was a friend of a friend and willing to do all the poses and sessions Daysy needed to hone her craft. During this intense experience, Daysy fell in love with Boudoir photography, and she and Kelly became close friends. Years later, when Kelly struggled with feelings of anxiety and low self-confidence, she turned to her friend Daysy for another boudoir photo shoot. Once again, Kelly fell in love with the photos and was able to see for herself how truly gorgeous she is. Daysy was excited to offer her services to other women, so she started the VIP [...]
What do you do when you have a full-time job with a busy career and then the economy plummets and your commissions disappear? If you're tenacious and creative like Danielle, you decide to become a Registered Nurse, which means going to school full-time, working full-time, and continuing to take care of herself and now, of her family that includes a husband and three stepchildren, two of them with special needs. This fiery beauty learned how strong and capable she was by exceeding even her own expectations of what she could accomplish. Danielle was born in Washington D.C. but has lived her life in Maryland. In addition to her significant other and stepkids and furry babies. In her spare time--if there is any--Danielle enjoys binge-watching Netflix, raw cookie dough, and sweet tea. So, how did this bombshell discover boudoir photography? Danielle shares that she has a bucket list, and that a photo session has been on that list for the past 10 years. "I did it for myself and as a surprise gift for my boyfriend" Danielle says. Lucky boyfriend!!!! Danielle enjoyed the entire session, but her favorite part was shopping for clothes and having so many [...]

We are so excited to welcome hottie Susan to the elite Boudoir Bombshell Club! Susan isn't new to glamour photoshoots--in fact, she had a "somewhat" boudoir-style photo session when she was in her twenties. Susan ran across those photos recently and laughed at her "big 80's hair." Another difference between her early experience and the photoshoot with Daysy? That first shoot was "definitely not as risque" as her shoot with Daysy. Ooh-lah-lah! Susan confessed that she had been feeling down about her menopausal body and was looking for something she could do to feel excited about again. Another reason was as a gift to her husband. But the coolest reason, for Susan? "My mom, who passed away in a car accident in 1999, had done a boudoir shoot when she was about the same age as me." How awesome is that, to have side-by-side boudoir photos? Susan loves the similarity of her headshots and those of her mom. Let's talk about the shoot. How was your experience? At first, Susan was definitely nervous about being scantily clad in front of someone other than her husband! Daysy quickly put her at ease, however, and soon Susan forgot about being nervous and [...]
High heels for your boudoir session: Heels, heels, heels! Nothing completes a great outfit like a good pair of heels! Bring SKIN TONE and BLACK heels. The higher/skinnier the heel, the better. The right heel can actually lengthen and slim your legs! Here are some examples: Bring a variety of heels, skin tone, black, and a fun color (think red, pink, or blue). TALL HEELS, GIRLS. TALL HEELS. The longer the heel, the longer your legs. The higher/skinnier the heels the better. Avoid ankle straps on your heels. You will see the bottom of your heels in some pictures, so if they are old/worn, you will be able to tell. Avoid flower patterns/patterns in general. We don’t want the focus to be your feet, we want the focus to be your legs. Avoid open toes, in case you are wearing stockings or you are doing a Glamour set. Wondering what a glamour set is? It is you and your beautiful gown dress! Here are a few of my client’s favorite places to buy shoes: Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/Jessica-Simpson-Womens-Parisah-Patent/dp/B07CNL5WXT/ref=sr_1_16?dchild=1&keywords=stilletos+pumps&qid=1612218222&sr=8-16 Thred up: Thredup.com Exotic High Heels: ExoticHighHeels.com/ Or your favorite local retail store can also be a great resource 🙂 Louboutin stilettos for the win christianlouboutin.com – And if you are looking [...]
At some point in every woman’s life she thinks to herself that she’s not perfect, not desirable, not beautiful. She’ll brush it off, tell herself to forget it, but the truth for many of us is that those negative thoughts and feelings often grow and flourish against all reason. When I discovered that I could use my art to help empower my fellow women it became a passion and a goal in my life to reach out in this way to as many as possible. Little did I know that these lovely ladies would have inspiring stories of their own to share with me. Stories that seem so much bigger than themselves, and encourage me in my mission. It has been a gift to me that these women have confided such a precious piece of themselves with me. It makes each session I shoot unique and meaningful in a way that’s impossible to put into words. I created the “Be Your Own Kind of Beautiful” series to share some of these stories with the world for all to see and know we are in this together. We are all beautiful just as we are! In this post I want to [...]
